A Tribute To Our Beloved Pastor

Thursday, March 31st, 2016 posted by swonda

Rev. Willie E. PageWhat can be said?  Our hearts are heavy and our minds are unclear.  One thing is for certain, God has called our Shepherd home to join his growing army.

Rev. Page faithfully shepherded the congregation of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church for 28 years according to the direct will of God until he was called home.  His work on earth was of eternal value and, because of that, he will have eternal reward.  We know that Rev. Page has already met people in heaven who have thanked him for leading them to the Lord.  We have no doubt that others in the future will meet him in heaven expressing their gratitude for him having led them to the Lord as well.

Rev. Page’s race ended earlier than we anticipated, but we still have our own race to run, and he wouldn’t have it any other way than knowing we are giving our very best for the Kingdom of God.

Rest assured Rev. Page…this will not be the end of your story because the memory of your life and your influence will remain with us for an eternity.  We will forever miss our friend and our beloved Pastor, but we rejoice in knowing he is with our Savior, Jesus.  And in honor of His gained soldier, we say…

Ring out the welcome.
Swing wide the gates.
Choirs of angels stand and sing, “Amazing Grace.”
There’s one more soldier of the King.
Whose trials are past.
Ring out the welcome loud and clear –
He’s home at last.
–Author Unknown–

Ending this tribute with his infamous words…”NOW RUN AND TELL THAT!”  Rev. Page:  May you Rest in Peace while in Heaven, Rev. Page. We will miss you dearly!!
